Independent Adjusting Companies (IA Firms) or Claims Service Companies are the backbone of the Catastrophic Insurance industry. Without them, Insurance Companies would not have the manpower to appropriately adjust to the volume of claims received during a catastrophic storm event. It is their “at will” employees that meet the state mandates for “initial contact after the loss”, triage the claims, set reserves, inspect damages, write up repair estimates and file the final reports on the damages sustained.
